Rob Edwards: AFC Telford players showed they're up for the fight

Telford chief Rob Edwards believes his side will be fine if they continue to churn out display's like they did in today's 0-0 draw with Darlington.

The Bucks dominated proceedings and went closest in the first period when Dom Smith was denied by Aynsley Pears.

Kane Richards went closest in the second period, and was denied what looked like a clear cut penalty 15 minutes time.

However, after four points in a week and two battling displays, Edwards insisted his side are up for the fight.

He added: "As I've said they know what we want them to do with the ball.

"Now we want them to win the fight, to show they are up for the fight and show they want to play for Telford.

"That is all we can ask of them, and you heard at half time and full time how much the fans appreciated that.

"Goals will come hopefully, we want decisions to go for us but you have to earn those decisions.

"We caused them a lot of problems today, and didn't allow them to get on the front foot.

"It is disappointing not to have got all three points, but the lads gave us everything and showed they are up for the fight.

"If they continue to play like that, we will be fine."

Edwards steered away from blaming the referee Alex Kirkley from denying his side a victory, after he turned down a big penalty shout on Richards.

However Edwards was disappointed his side didn't get the rub of the green on a number of occasions.

He added: "I thought it was a penalty, why would Kane go down in that position, when he was about to shoot or square it?

"I don't want to blame anyone for us not winning the game, we can only control what we can.

"But I felt some of the decisions today didn't go our way, everyone saw it in the ground and it was frustrating."
