AFC Telford United skipper Shane Sutton has billed tonight's clash with Leamington as 'the biggest game of the season'.

It is a relegation six-pointer coming up at the New Bucks Head, with the hosts in the National League North drop zone and the Brakes three points above.

Sutton joined the Bucks from Welsh Premier side Newtown last summer and is desperate for his debut season in the division not to end in relegation.

"It's a must-win game, really," he said.

"All the lads are quite confident, and we have been like that all season. We are feeling good.

"Three wins from these last six games would take us to 50 points, I think, would almost definitely do it.

"That should be enough for us and you don't want to leave it late, or leave anything to chance.

"It's the biggest game of the season, for both teams.

"It's all about who can handle the pressure better."

Sutton has made 33 league appearances for Telford this campaign, recently being paired by former Shrewsbury Town man Dom Smith at the heart of defence.

He has scored once – in a 2-1 victory against Boston United, who the Bucks travel to on the final day, back in October.

The 29-year-old ex-Salop youngster takes pride in showing commitment to the cause and has warned his team-mates to be braced for a physical battle tonight.

"I think that it'll be a more physical game," said Sutton.

"The gaffer has told us that they're quite direct, like to get the ball forward quickly as they've got a few players with some pace.

"As a centre-half, it'll be an enjoyable game for me.

"I prefer those physical games over the ones against teams who like to pass the ball around a lot, to be fair.

"We're prepared. Both teams are going into it fresh as their game against Chorley on Tuesday was called off – and I think that could play into our favour a little bit, their preparation being affected.

"We're all looking forward to the game and hopefully we'll get over the line."
