The 25-year-old joined Telford, his 15th club, this summer, after ending last season at National North rivals Southport.

He has also been at Wigan Athletic, Leicester City and Bristol Rovers, among others – and opted for the Bucks after playing with boss Gavin Cowan at Nuneaton four years ago.

“I was close to signing at Chester but Gav has played with me,” said Dawson.

“Some people think I’ve got a bad attitude, but it’s passion.

“My body language maybe has been bad but I want to do well. Gav understands me and knows me – he trusts me and I trust him.

“My main target is to just knuckle down. If I’m not in the team, some might think ‘He’ll move on’ but I want to hang around and so as well as I can.

“On the pitch, I want to come up with assists and goals. I’d like to get 10 goals, that’s my aim.”

Dawson believes Telford will turn a fair few heads this campaign.

He added: “I’d 100 per cent back us against anyone.

“The manager has got us all believing in ourselves.

“We haven’t just got a strong 11, we can adapt to different situations.

“I think we can pull something good off this season.”
