Put tiring Bulls to the slaughter – AFC Telford hitman Daniel Udoh

The Bucks hot-shot returned from an absence caused by bruising around the knee to help fire Gavin Cowan’s side to a fine 2-1 home win over York on Saturday.

And the New Bucks Head is likely to be bouncing tonight for the visit of Hereford FC, who are struggling in 19th and are winless in nine National League North games.

Razor-sharp Udoh, 22, feels back up to top speed despite 90 goalless minutes against The Minstermen and plans to take advantage against phoenix club Hereford.

“I was gutted to be missing [against Curzon] but as soon as I found out I was in the starting XI, I thought, ‘let me show them what they were missing’ and get the win,” said the 11-goal hitman.

“To have Saturday-Tuesday matches is really good for people like me because I’m young and defenders are getting older. There’s more chances to get goals and stuff like that, especially at home – even draws aren’t good enough for us, we just need to keep winning.

“We need to change our away form. Then we’ll get ourselves up the table.”

The victory lifted Telford into sixth, just three points off second in a tight front pack.

Former Crewe frontman Udoh insists that Telford’s last-gasp win against York will count for little if Cowan’s men cannot back it up against struggling Hereford.

He added: “I would’ve liked to have got on the scoresheet but at the end of the day it’s a results game and we won.

“We hadn’t won since the start of the month. Saturday won’t really matter if we don’t win tonight, so we’ve just got to build to go again.

“We tried to use Chorley as a springboard but it didn’t happen. The next game we weren’t at the races. As a team we’ve spoken and know what we need to do. We showed what we needed to do on Saturday, that’s how we need to keep going.”

The Bucks are definitely without defender Zak Lilly who came off early against York with a suspected fractured hip that will see him out sidelined for some time.
