Gavin Cowan: Yusifu Ceesay adds a surprise Telford factor

Gavin Cowan feels ‘unorthodox’ attacker Yusifu Ceesay can spring a surprise on AFC Telford United’s National League North rivals.

The Telford boss brought in former non-league star Ceesay on loan from League One Blackpool last week but he is yet to make his Bucks bow after remaining an unused substitute in Saturday’s defeat to Bradford Park Avenue.

The 23-year-old Spaniard, who made his name in non-league for the likes of Smethwick, Sporting Khalsa and Alvechurch, sealed a move to the professional game in September by penning a two-year deal with the Seasiders.

And Telford boss Cowan feels the pacy attacker’s unpredictability will be an asset to his high-flying side.

“He’s very quick, very direct, very unorthodox,” said Cowan of his latest capture, who is with Telford on a one-month loan deal.

“I think he’s one of those where you never really know what you’re going to get from him. But we believe, having seen what we’ve seen, that you can get something positive out of him.”
