Gavin Cowan: Daniel Udoh’s AFC Telford drought not an issue

AFC Telford United chief Gavin Cowan is not at all concerned about top scorer Daniel Udoh’s dry spell in front of goal.

Centre forward Udoh is leading the way in the Bucks goal chart, having chipped in 12 times, but on a run of just one strike in eight matches.

On Udoh’s lack of goals over the past few weeks, Cowan said: “I don’t really buy into any of that.

“He’s scored 12 goals over the course of the season so far.

“We’re in December and that’s a very good return for any striker, at any level.

“It’s all about perception, isn’t it? But we can’t just rely on Dan to score.

“We’re having chances, we’re still creating, but we just haven’t been converting as many as we would like.

“I’d be concerned if we weren’t creating, but we are. Now we just have to be a bit more clinical.”
