Gavin Cowan: Fans can cheer AFC Telford to Wembley

Overturning a first-leg deficit and getting to an FA Trophy Wembley final would be one of AFC Telford United’s biggest ever achievements.

That is according to boss Gavin Cowan, who was proud of his side after they slipped to just a one-goal defeat in the first leg of their trophy tie at non-league big boys Leyton Orient.

Macauley Bonne’s second-half goal is all that separates the sides heading to the New Bucks Head on Saturday.

And Cowan insisted the fans can play a big part in firing the Bucks on to one of their greatest achievements.

He said: “The supporters have a huge part to play next weekend in what would be the biggest achievement in the club’s history.

“There is a lot of anticipation with Wembley there, but it is also to come and see a team they can be proud of.

“Next Saturday will be a wonderful day and we will be leaving no stone unturned. We are going in the right direction in the game, and have something to build on but we need to take some calculated risks.”
