After a win at Bradford Park Avenue was followed by draws to Blyth and Chorley, and again back on home soil they snatched a late point.

Jordan Hulme's 11th minute goal looked to have won it, but in the 90th minute Andre Brown went down, before picking himself up to smash the spot kick home.

Cowan said his side had navigated a tricky run since being dumped out of the FA Trophy, but believed they should have won against a solid Altrincham side.

He said: "It is not a terrible result.

"We were very dominant in the second half, but disappointed in the first half.

"We went off script and showed a lacked of game management.

"When we were good we were very good, but we should have tied it up and won it earlier in the second half.

"We take a point in the end, and it has been our toughest run of the season in the last four games.

"It is a pretty good effort to go unbeaten.

"We need to capitalise on chances though and show more desire from set pieces."

Andy White was dismissed for Altrincham with 15 minutes to go, and from then to the end they sat in and dug out a point.

Cowan added: "Credit to them at 1-0 their staff said nick it and keep the result.

"They played some great stuff in the first half, but we addressed it in the second half and the game swung back to us.

"They they had a man sent off and it was a one way street."

Brown was the hero for Telford as he salvaged a point, but be could have won it at the death.

Cowan indicated that his side are adapting patterns of play to the striker, and he could feature more during the run in.

He added: "Andre and me have an honest relationship and he hasn't featured too much.

"He deserved it tonight.

"I feel like we will evolve to him.

"Our style hasn't really suited him but we are evolving and he is a quality player who could feature at this level or the one above."
