Gavin Cowan handed new AFC Telford deal

Gavin Cowan's outstanding work at AFC Telford United has been rewarded with a new two-year contract.

The Bucks boss has enjoyed a stunning debut campaign at the New Bucks Head where he has led a push for the National League North play-offs and guided the club to their first FA Trophy semi-final for 10 years.

Assistant manager Phil Trainer and first-team coach Jamie Haynes also penned new deals.

A delighted Cowan said: “It is a huge honour for me to be the manager of AFC Telford United. I’d like to thank everyone at the club who has worked tirelessly in making this season a success.

"To the supporters, thank you for your backing and loyalty, it is our biggest reward.

"We can now focus on leading this brilliant club forward for the next two years, building on what has been a big season so far and will hopefully bring even bigger rewards over the coming month.

"A huge thank you must go to my staff and my players who truly deserve the plaudits."

Cowan was handed his first job in management by the Bucks in May last year and has wasted no time improving the club's fortunes with his side sitting in the last play-off spot in National North with four games remaining.
