Kevin Wilkin has challenged AFC Telford United winger Ellis Brown to take inspiration from the form of fellow-youngster Ricardo Dinanga.

Brown, 22, set up Dinanga for the winner in the 2-1 FA Trophy clash at Mickleover, while the duo both netted against Bishop's Stortford on Saturday.

And after a period of time out of the team, Wilkin is keen to see Brown at a level of consistency to his game similar to that of Dinanga.

“He’s been unfortunate to have been left out of the squad on a couple of occasions, but looking at the response he’s shown, he found a moment and that’s the key thing with Ellis,” the Bucks boss said.

“There are lots of great things about his game, but the one thing he needs to add is making those final moments count.“

Whether that’s joining up a pass, creating an assist, scoring a goal, he needs to start finding these big moments in games consistently.”

Wilkin continued: “In a difficult point after we’d been rocked back he pulled out a bit of trickery to make space for the cross and deliver a wonderful ball into the box.

“You look at Ricardo, and he’s got a good understanding of how to score goals, probably up there with anybody we’ve got in the side really.

“He works the target when he gets in good moments, as we saw last Saturday with two very different goals. He’s a good source of goals now and has become very important to us.

“If Ellis can find a little bit more of that when he finds himself in those moments that will be great, because that’s really when people start taking notice of you.”
