Unai Emery's Aston Villa defensive headache set to continue for Tottenham FA Cup clash

Villa boss Unai Emery is facing another defensive headache heading into Sunday’s FA Cup showdown with Tottenham.

The deadline day signing of Axel Disasi from Chelsea bolstered Villa’s backline but the centre-back is unable to play against Spurs having already featured in the Cup for his parent club.

With Tyrone Mings again expected to be absent with a knee injury, it means Ezri Konsa remains the only senior recognised centre-back available.

That means midfielder Boubacar Kamara is likely to continue his role as an emergency defender. The 25-year-old impressed when first drafted into the backline for Villa’s 4-2 Champions League win over Celtic but found the going far tougher in the first half of last Saturday’s 2-0 derby defeat at Wolves.
