The Frenchman is working towards his UEFA B-Licence and took the session at London Road to gain more coaching experience.

After a warm-up and an opening introduction, the former Toulouse man put Sean Evans' squad through a number of drills before finishing off with a game.

Watching on from the sidelines was Shrewsbury Town in the Community manager Jamie Edwards, who said: "It was great to see Jean-Louis take the session.

"Jean-Louis is so enthusiastic about whatever he does when he comes out on community visits.

"He's going through his B-Licence and wants to go on to his A-Licence, so the more varied sessions he can do the better. I think the ladies really engaged with him and took everything on board.

"It's trying to make sure that the players realise there's not just one team here and hopefully the fans realise that too. There's a ladies' team, futsal, the academy and our disability teams.

"It's trying to make sure we're in it together and representing Shrewsbury Town which is one of the key goals we are trying to achieve in the community."

Boss Evans took his side to Town's recent midweek game against Doncaster Rovers and let the them know that Akpa Akpro would be taking a session.

Evans said: "I gave them a little heads up. I pointed him out to everyone so they all knew who he was. We'd love to see more players come down and take some sessions."

Emma Higgs of Shrewsbury Town Ladies enjoyed the change in coaching, saying: "It was a really enjoyable session.

"It's nice to mix things up and it's great to have someone down here from the professional league."
