The midfielder, formerly of Middlesbrough, is excited to get back to work at the Meadow.

"I'm really happy to be here. Obviously it's taken a while, things happen behind the scenes that everyone doesn't see but I'm, just happy it's sorted now." said Morris.

"It's took a long time but I'm happy it's done.

"I came in January, spent three months here and the goal was always to come, play as many games as possible and try and help keep the team up.

"There's a new season and I'm focused on what's ahead and we'll see what happens.

"In the time from January to the end of the season I settled in and now I'll be here for a longer period of time.

"I think I'll feel more comfortable and hopefully kick on"

"I know the place a bit more now. I felt settled towards the end of the season anyway."

Having joined Salop back in January under Paul Hurst, he believes his spell with the club last season will help him hit the ground running with his new deal.

"I'm not going to be a new face in the dressing room and it won't take time settling in. I know the set of lads, obviously there's new people coming in so they're going to be in the position that I was when settling in." he continued.

"No-one wants relegation on their CV. That was the goal ever since I'd come in. We'll go again this season and see what happens.

"I think that'll help when it comes to a Saturday and coming to the matches.

Meanwhile, the youngster also opened up on the new training ground for the squad.

"Obviously we trained here (at the ground) every day last season. I won't say it's like something new but it'll be more fresh because we're not there every day.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what the new ground's like too.

Following the deal, the 21-year-old now faces a taxing pre-season trip with Shrewsbury, in which they head to Portugal.

"Going on pre-season tour and being together should be really good for everyone. Hopefully it'll be a much more tight-knit group.

"Three sessions a day doesn't sound easy but I'm really looking forward to it. I enjoy going away and like training in the heat so I'm really looking forward to it." he said.

"You can't really replicate the fitness in a match without playing games. You can train at your max but you can't really get up to game speed without playing the game so it'll come as quick as possible really.
