The 28-year-old signs up as Toto Nsiala edges closer to a reunion with Paul Hurst at Ipswich, alongside Jon Nolan.

He joins on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, making the step up from League Two.

He played the full 90 minutes during Lincoln's opening win of the season, in which they came out 1-0 victors away at Northampton Town.

The former Lincoln skipper was delighted to seal his move to the Montgomery Waters Meadow, admitting it was a step up and that he was looking forward to the new challenge.

"I’m delighted to be here." He said.

"It has been going on for a few days now. I’m glad to have finally got it over the line and get it all signed up."

“I’ve had a look at the stadium, the stadium is fantastic and the facilities are good and I am really looking forward to cracking on.

"It is a step up from League two where I have been playing.

"The football club looks really good, the people involved come across really well so it’s a real challenge that I am really looking forward to.

“I’m 28 now and Shrewsbury have shown a lot of faith in me offering a three-year deal, which shows a level of commitment on their part and I want to repay that with good performances on the pitch.

“I like to think I’m a bit of an organiser, like to class my self as a leader as well and quite an old fashioned centre back.

"I like to win my headers and my tackles.”

Having played under John Askey at Macclesfield, the boss will be a familiar face to Waterfall.

And he said that having that connection with the Salop boss convinced him that he was making the right move by heading to Shropshire.

"I’m really looking forward to the next chapter for me and my family.”

"I know the manager, I’ve worked with him before at Macclesfield a few years ago.

“So I know what to expect from John and I know what he expects from me. So, all in all it’s definitely the right move at the right time."

The defender links up with the Salop squad this week, and could make his first appearance against Charlton this weekend.
