Carlisle v Shrewsbury preview: Town to go the extra mile - but wary of winless Blues
Carlisle United may be seen as gruelling trip for many sides in League One – but Salop boss Matt Taylor is only focused on the tough task his side face on the pitch.
Salop prepare to make the 189-mile journey up north looking to make it back-to-back wins on the road for the first time since February.
Paul Simpson’s Blues have endured a difficult start to their campaign after winning promotion via the play-offs last season.
Salop chief Taylor believes Simpson’s charges haven’t picked up the points their performances so far have deserved, and has already sounded a warning to his players that they cannot expect to pick up a result.
And the task of facing a good side in front of a hostile crowd is much more difficult than the three-hour trip.
“It is only a tough trip up there if there is an accident or traffic on the M6,” joked Taylor. “It is not the middle of winter when it is freezing, we’ll travel up and stay in a nice hotel before the game.
