Matt Taylor’s men are back in action this weekend in the FA Cup as Colchester United visit in what the head coach described as the best cup competition in the world.

On the back of the news Shrews are set to be without Kieran Phillips for the next three months, they were handed a positive update on the injury front ahead of the game with Thorpe and Shipley set to be in contention.

Shipley has not played since Town’s only away win of the season, at Fleetwood, where he suffered a knee injury. Whereas Thorpe has not featured in competitive action for Town since his arrival from Luton Town in the summer.

The wing-back has been out with a stress fracture to his back, so it is a boost that both players will be in the squad for this weekend’s game.

“Jordan Shipley will be back in the squad, Elliot Thorpe will be back in the squad,” said boss Taylor.
