Wolves eyeing loan move for Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback

The 27-year-old may be seen as an ideal replacement for Dave Edwards, who left Molineux for Reading this week, with Nuno Espirito Santo hopeful of a loan deal being sorted ahead of the transfer deadline.

He's reportedly surplus to requirements at St. James' Park, although Championship rivals Hull are also thought to be keen on the former Sunderland man.

Colback has made over 90 appearances for the Magpies since joining the club in 2014, scoring five times.

He last found the back of the net during Newcastle's relegation season, during the 2-2 draw with Liverpool in April 2016.

He's yet to feature for the north-east club this season following a reported bust-up with Rafa Benitez during training.

If a deal is to go through, he'd join Leo Bonatini, Willy Boly, Diogo Jota and Ruben Vinagre on heading to Molineux on a temporary deal this summer.

Meanwhile, Wolves are still hunting for a striker - with Bonatini now the only senior forward in the Nuno's squad.
