Wolves goal hero Leo Bonatini: "We're not scared of Manchester City"
In-form Leo Bonatini has called for Wolves to improve despite another win - but says they won't be scared of facing Premier League leaders Manchester City tomorrow night.
Wolves recorded their third successive victory when edging past Preston 3-2 on Saturday.
Bonatini scored twice to take his tally to four goals in his past three games - and seven for the season.
After an indifferent performance the mood in the Wolves camp was hardly euphoric. And Bonatini says they must play better.
"We know we need to improve," he said. "Nuno will give us all the information, which is the most important thing, and our minds are open to improve.
“The game finished and in the dressing room people had their head down.
“We need to know we won an important game. Of course we are not happy because this situation cannot happen but we won and this is the most important thing.
"Preston are a team that pressed us a lot, we tried to involve them, it was difficult but in the end it was three points more.
"Step by step we are winning and it was good to be at home and win another game."
The modest Brazilian played down his hot scoring streak saying victories were more important.
"I prefer of course to win than score - if we score with an own-goal then the next season in the Premier League we will be happy," he added.
"But I try to help my team-mates not only by scoring but also by making movements and giving some assists to them and to press and do everything.
"I will do everything to help my mates."
Wolves travel to face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the Etihad tomorrow in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
City have scored 32 goals in nine Premier League games including 10 in the past week during home victories against Stoke (7-2) and Burnley (3-0).
Bonatini though says Wolves won't be intimidated.
"It will be a tough game for us and for them as well," he said. "We will go there and try to play our football.
“It doesn’t matter who we play against, we need to respect them and that respect means we need to play and if we get a chance to score we score and we will try to do our best.
"We don’t need to scared of them. It’s just football, it’s 11 against 11, we know what we can do.
“And we did well until now so we need to know what we can do to get confidence because if we are not confident we know how it will be so we have to go there and do what we want to and what we like to do."
