A three-game winless streak has allowed the gap to second place to more than halve, from 13 points to six.

However, the head coach has stressed for every player to play their part as he looks for the ‘solutions’ to Wolves’ issues.

“We find the right solutions,” he said. “We count on every player, everybody is important. This (Championship) doesn’t stop. We’ll count on (our fans) on Saturday evening (against Reading) – we have to show the character.”

Wolves lost 2-0 at Fulham on Saturday but missed a golden chance to get back into the game when Diogo Jota ballooned over the bar from close range.

Nuno said they wouldn’t be ruing that missed opportunity.

“We don’t work on ‘buts’,” he said. “It could have been a turning point, 2-1 with five minutes to go.

“(But) remember what happened in the last second of the game (against Norwich).

“Fulham are in a good momentum, it’s a good team and Jokanovic is doing fantastic work.”

The head coach again reiterated that he wasn’t interested in looking at the Championship table – and is more concerned about improving Wolves’ performances in the coming weeks.

“How we play dictates what we do,” he added. “We haven’t lost our edge. We don’t care about the table. We are preparing and building something.”

Wolves are set for another big crowd at Molineux on Saturday.

Tickets have sold out in the Sir Jack Hayward and Stan Cullis stands.

Meanwhile, ex-striker Chris Iwelumo believes Wolves fans shouldn’t be unduly concerned.

“Wolves are going through a tricky patch at the minute but all Championship teams do,” he said. “They’re scoring goals, they’re picking up points and they’ll be back at it.”
