Wolves boss Nuno: Players did what I wanted
Nuno Espirito Santo said he got everything he wanted from his Wolves players after the eased past Burton Albion 3-1.
Two goals from Benik Afobe and another from Helder Costa were enough to see Wolves extend their lead at the top of the table.
It completed a perfect few days for Nuno's team after a 3-0 win over Reading in midweek and offered the perfect riposte following last Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Villa.
“It was a good performance and a performance that showed control and character and knowing that playing well is what is needed to get victories," Nuno said.
"The consistency of the team was there.
"Everything I asked for I got and that's the most important part.
"The crowd enjoyed it and the boys enjoyed playing their football. The talent comes when you're organised, intense, in shape, reacting to the loss of the ball.
"The most important thing is the team. Some players had their momentum, the next game it'll be another one. Everyone is important.
"Some of the players will be busy in the international break. I'm very proud because we have players playing for their countries.
“But the best way to prepare (for the break) is when you compete like this."
Afobe's double salvo took his tally to four goals in four games.
Nuno said on the in-form striker: "Benik is getting to his best now – like the team.
"Today it was him, before it was Diogo Jota, Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro, Morgan Gibbs-White...all these players are important. All the things we're doing with them is focused on building a team.
“For now we're just focusing on the next game.
"The result is not important – what is important is the 'how'.
"The 'what' and the 'when' will come naturally, but the 'how' is important – it's about how we play."
