While rivals Villa slipped up with defeats to QPR and Bolton, Wolves comfortably won their two games to extend their lead to third place to 13 points.

Nuno Espirito Santo's team now have to win just four of their remaining eight fixtures to guarantee promotion.

Neves said of Saturday's 3-1 victory over Burton: "It was a very good win for us.

"We know Burton came to Molineux to win points, they need points, but we did a very good job.

"It was really cold but the team are focused and the weather doesn't matter for us – we just play.

"Fortunately we can play good and win the game on Saturday.

"We are focused on our game. We had some bad results before but we bounced back really good. We showed we're focused on our Championship

"We think game by game. We have a lot of work to do and we're focused.

"Now we will enjoy our international break and come back again to do the same."

Neves is now away with Portugal having been called up to the senior squad for friendlies against Egypt and the Netherlands.

The 21-year-old only has four caps to his name but will be hopeful of earning a spot in Fernando Santos' squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia.

He thinks the international break has come at a good time for Wolves – and he can't wait to train with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo before Wolves' final eight-game run in.

"It's a good time (for the break)," he said. "We won the last two games so we have to enjoy, to rest and after we'll come back stronger.

"I'm happy with (not resting)! I'm really happy to go to the national team and help my country and work with some very good players, the best player in the world.

"I will enjoy it and come back and do my best for Wolverhampton.

"It's my job, I have to work to do it well. Fortunately I can go to the national team and I'll enjoy it."
