Wolves boss Nuno: Don't think about results

Victory over Derby will put Nuno’s team within touching distance of the Premier League.

Fulham kept the race going by beating Reading 1-0 at Craven Cottage last night to move into second place – but Wolves will go up if they beat Derby tonight and Blues on Sunday.

If Cardiff drop points they could also become champions on the same day.

Nuno’s post-Cardiff celebrations have had more focus than his team’s performance – and that’s something he wants to change tonight as he called for focus from his players.

“We cannot look at the result,” he said. "If we start thinking about that, you cannot perform.

“The protagonists of the game are the players – people should look more at what the Wolves players are doing and the way they’re developing.

“It’s a young squad, a new squad with a lot of foreign players mixed with British players, some of those experienced some of those young...this is building.

“Nothing else matters.”

Nuno earned the wrath of Neil Warnock when sprinting on to the pitch to celebrate Wolves’ big 1-0 win at Cardiff he Friday.

He couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t happen again.

“I don’t know (but that type of finish) is very difficult to happen again,” he said.

“Even not with us, but through football, it’s very difficult for this situation to happen again.

“Regarding my reactions and my emotions, for sure I’ll try to have a different approach. I’ll try.

“It doesn’t distract me what people think and say about me, my conscience is very clear

“I don’t care about what others say. I’m enjoying (myself).”

When asked how his team could improve tonight, the boss added: “Our defensive organisation.

“We should not allow chances to our opponents like we’ve been doing before.”
