Nuno Espirito Santo's team host Everton at Molineux in their first top flight match since 2012.

Hopes are high that Wolves can make a big impact in the Premier League.

And Coady says confidence – and excitement – is high in the Wolves camp.

"We can't wait," he said.

"This weekend is something special – it's special for the boys and our supporters.

"It's been a long pre-season – they always are, they get longer and longer to be honest.

"We were excited before Villarreal, we couldn't wait for that one at Molineux in front of our home crowd.

"We love playing football at Molineux. Now it's under our belts we feel good and ready."

Wolves beat Spanish La Liga side Villarreal 2-1 at Molineux on Saturday with goals from Willy Boly and Raul Jimenez.

Coady said the encounter warmed them up nicely for Everton.

"Saturday was a good game for us, it was our first proper game, we spoke about it all week," he added.

"Villarreal opened us up a bit in the first half but I think we rectified that at half time on how to stop it.

"We controlled the game in the second half which was a bit more like us.

"I thought we created some alright chances in the first half, we missed the penalty with Ruben (Neves) which wasn't like him.

"We made sure we were tighter and dropping a bit earlier in the second half. It was a lot better.

"We're happy but we need to improve.

"The quality opposition have been there all pre-season, even Stoke and Derby are really good sides, we had Young Boys and Ajax and we've got to get used to that sort of opposition."

Mexican striker Jimenez's strike was his first in Wolves colours.

Coady believes the 27-year-old can shine in the top flight.

"The goal is brilliant for Raul," he said. "He works so hard, you can see in training he works his socks off.

"He presses the goalkeeper and he doesn't stop running.

"I'm made up for him to score at Molineux, that's massive for him.

"He's played for Benfica and went to the World Cup – he's going to be a top player for us.

"We're looking forward to seeing how he does.

"The club will do what they have to do (in the transfer market this week). We're focusing on ourselves and listening to the manager all week to improve and hopefully hit the ground running."
