£30m Raul Jimenez waits to decide Wolves future
Loan striker Raul Jimenez says it’s too soon to decide on his Wolves future – but he’s loving life at the club.
Jimenez has starred for Wolves this season with four goals and five assists.
The Mexico striker is on loan from Benfica for the season and it is believed Wolves have an option to buy him next summer for around £30million.
But he said: “It’s too early. I have to do the things I’m doing, help the team to get good results.
“At the end of the season we’ll see what happens.”
The 27-year-old has settled well to life in England.
Jimenez, true to his style of play, says he just wants to help the team.
“I’m enjoying it, this is what I love,” he added.
“I try to play well and help the team, it’s going well for me and also the team.
“It’s exciting for me, I’m doing things well and that’s the reason I’m an important part of the team.
“I’ll try and keep doing the same things to help us keep winning.”
Jimenez was on the bench for the first time this season for the 2-1 win at Newcastle United on Sunday.
It was a second successive win for Wolves who have climbed to 10th in the Premier League table ahead of Saturday’s visit of Bournemouth to Molineux.
“We know we have to keep working to achieve this type of result,” Jimenez added.
“We’re in good form, we have to keep it going.
“It’s important to have these two winning matches because we have two home games (against Bournemouth and Liverpool) and we have to take advantage of that.
“We know what we have to do.”
The striker came off the bench at St James’ Park and almost scored with a scorching shot which cannoned off the underside of the bar.
“A little bit more down and it’s a goal!” he added.
“We scored a late winner and we never gave any ball up as lost.
“The fans there, we heard them all the time and that’s very important, that people outside the pitch motivate us to do what we do.
“We have a few days before the next game, we have to prepare well, it’s difficult but we can win.”
Just a few tickets remain for Wolves’ trip to face Claudio Ranieri’s struggling Fulham on Boxing Day, kick off 12.30pm
They have been handed an allocation of 3,100 for the club’s first trip to Wembley since 1988 when they face Tottenham on December 29.
