Wolves reportedly set for China tournament
Wolves could be heading to China for a biennial pre-season tournament this summer, according to reports.
Manchester City, West Ham and Newcastle will also reportedly feature in the Premier League Asia Trophy according to the Mirror. The tournament is this year being held in Shanghai.
Chinese owners Fosun are keen to grow the club's brand in the Far East and the Asia Trophy would be seen as an ideal opportunity to gain exposure – and of course play in front of big Chinese audiences.
The official line-up for the Asia Trophy won't be known until an announcement later this month.
However, if Wolves qualify for the Europa League there may be a fixture clash. The Europa League second qualifying round first leg takes place on July 25. The Asia Trophy is traditionally held between mid and late July.
The Asia Trophy has been held every two years since 2003. The Premier League set it up to held grow the game in the Far East and it's also been hosted in Beijing, Malaysia and Singapore.
Fellow West Midlands clubs Villa, Blues and Albion have all previously taken part, with the Baggies competing against Liverpool, Leicester and Palace two years ago in Hong Kong.
