Coady helped Wolves to one of their biggest wins of the past four decades as they downed the mighty Manchester United with a 2-1 quarter-final triumph at a raucous Molineux.

Before kick-off the skipper – who said it was the best win of his career – told his team-mates to make history.

And Wolves now believe they can go all the way and lift the FA Cup for the first time in 59 years.

"(I told the boys to) make history, make sure this team doesn't go unnoticed.

"(I said) players come and go, we'll come and go, more players will come in – but make sure people remember this team.

"It's the best game of my career. For the boys to perform like that, at this football club, we knew what the crowd was going to be like, we felt the atmosphere all week and we'd been exactly the same; excited for the game and looking forward to it.

"We knew what the fans were going to bring, we knew they were going to push us and push us.

"For us to play like that for 90 minutes is just absolutely brilliant.

"I thought we were outstanding from start to finish and the boys really deserve it."

A packed Molineux lapped it up with supporters staying long after the final whistle to celebrate an unforgettable victory.

Coady said of the atmosphere: "I couldn't hear a thing! Not just after the two goals, it was all game.

"A lot of people usually hear me screaming and shouting during games, but I don't think many people could hear me!

"It was amazing. We knew it'd be like that.

"I came here and met the volunteers who put the flags out and it was brilliant to see their excitement building.

"I'm so, so happy for those supporters.

"Where this club has come in the past two years has been sensational."

Coady is the only member of Nuno Espirito Santo's squad to have played in an FA Cup semi-final before. He reached the last four with Sheffield United in 2013/14 but lost out to Hull City,

"We can't wait!" Coady said.

"It's one of the best days we'll ever have. We want to go there and do it right and prepare right.

"We'll enjoy these two weeks.

"I know what the FA Cup brings to people and what the semi-final will bring.

"We've got a good team with unbelievable football players. Now that we're there I'm sure everybody's going to enjoy it including the supporters."
