Wolves 2 West Ham 3 - Player ratings

Joe Edwards rates the players after Wolves' 3-2 loss to West Ham.

Published
Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tomas Soucek of West Ham United (AMA)

Rui Patricio

Made a superb save to keep out Antonio in the opening stages.

Nothing he could do for the first two West Ham goals but may feel he should have done better with Bowen's. 6

Nelson Semedo

Caught flat-footed by Lingard, who flicked the ball around the Portuguese in the build-up to the Fornals goal.

Got forward but not with great success. 5

Conor Coady

A poor display from the skipper, it must be said.

Really struggled against Antonio in the first half an hour and was pulled out of position on several occasions. 4

Romain Saiss

The Moroccan did not fare any better than his centre-half partner either.

Easily skipped past by Lingard as he opened the scoring for the Hammers. 4

Rayan Ait-Nouri

Had some decent moments on the front foot but was found wanting defensively.

Beaten to the punch by Bowen – after the Frenchman's hopeful delivery was headed clear by Soucek – as West Ham got their third. 5

Ruben Neves

The Portuguese did not have the influence on the ball he would have wanted.

Off it, he was unable to keep tabs on Lingard who wreaked havoc in the first half. 5

Leander Dendoncker

Neves could have taken Lingard down in the lead-up to the third goal, and Dendoncker could have before the Manchester United loanee got the opener.

Was noticeably off the pace early on but went on to open his account for the season. 5

Daniel Podence

Not everything he did came off, but it was good to see the playmaker back in the fold and he did create some opportunities.

Sent over two crosses to Jose, who put one wide and then forced Fabianski into a sharp save. 6

Pedro Neto

A little quieter than usual, but Neto did come away with an assist after his well-weighted through-ball was calmly tucked away by Silva.

Had a squabble with Lingard after the final whistle. 6

Adama Traore

Excellent run and cross to set up Dendoncker on the stroke of half-time. His first assist of the season.

Hopefully will come up with more of those moments in the final weeks. 7

Willian Jose

His goalless run goes on. Perhaps unlucky to be denied by Fabianski in the first half, but he was later guilty of pausing in the area when he had a clear chance to shoot.

Unsurprisingly taken off for Vitinha as presence faded. 5

Subs

Fabio Silva (for Podence, 45)

Has looked bright off the bench for a while, and the teenager got back among the goals in fine fashion.

Should be starting games ahead of Jose now. 7

Vitinha (for Jose, 72)

Made a few passes. Would be nice to see him get more of an opportunity. 5

Ki-Jana Hoever (for Ait-Nouri, 90)
