Enefer, who is still a junior, last lifted the Shropshire & Herefordshire Union of Golf Clubs Amateur Championship in 2012 when he was aged just 14.

And now aged 16, he repeated the feat yesterday edging out last year's winner Alex Allen of The Herefordshire by a single shot.

Enefer carded a first round of 72 and then improved significantly with his second round of 66 to finish with a winning four under par total of 138.

Allen totalled 139, including rounds of 69 and 70, while Lilleshall Hall's Ed Tranter came third with 141 after scores of 71 and 70.

Tom King of Llanymynech, came fourth with 144 while Shrewsbury's Barry Ruddick and Sean McCarthy finished tied fifth as did Horsehay Village's Lewis Horobin and Hawkstone Park's Andrew Porter. All carded 145.

Allen also won the prize for the best round in the morning session while Enefer won the prize for the best round in the afternoon.

Wrekin took the team trophy, which was awarded for the best three scores recorded by each club, thanks to Enefer (138), Andy Stephenson (147) and Kris Williams (150).

Enefer's 2012 victory saw him make history by becoming the youngest ever winner of the tournament.

Peter Baker, who represented Europe at the 1993 Ryder Cup held the previous record when he lifted the title as a 15-year-old in 1983 , while Major champions Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam were 16 and 17 respectively when they first claimed the Championship in the mid- 1970s.
