Strong start form Shropshire golf champion Will Enefer

Shropshire's new county golf champion, Will Enefer, was tied 13th after day one of the Irish Boys Amateur Open yesterday.

Enefer carded a level par 72 at Thurles Golf Club in County Tipperary and was today aiming to build on that score.

Meanwhile The Shropshire's Andy Robinson was the county's highest placed player after day one of the Welsh Amateur Senior Open yesterday. Robinson finished in 49th place, after a 10-over-par 79. Church Stretton's Glyn Hughes was 64th, and Llanymynech's Basil Griffiths was 71st.
