The 11-year-old led her team to victory in the event at Sutton Coldfield and also bagged an individual award.
Running for Wolverhampton & Bilston Athletics Club’s under-13 team, Gilbody and team-mates Isabelle Jones and Scarlett Williams came home in first place to be crowned Midland champions.
The trio dominated the race as they finished more than a minute clear of their nearest rivals.
And there was more success for Gilbody as she picked up the fastest under-13 girls medal for her time of 14 minutes 39 seconds for the 3.88km course.
