Tony Jones to box in the Black Country

Telford's Tony Jones will return to the ring and box his first professional bout in the Black Country next month.

Paid pugilism returns to the Venue in Dudley on Friday November 4 with fireworks expected on the evening before Bonfire Night,

writes Craig Birch.

And 'Blaze' Jones will looking to shine and start up another winning record, after recording a draw last time out.

The 25-year-old super lightweight, who is managed by Kellie Maloney, features on a show which will be staged by PJ Promotions.

Jones remains unbeaten heading into his seventh pro contest, having reeled off five victories heading into his previous outing.

The second of his wins was by first round TKO, flooring Dean Evans with a left hook with the contest just 80 seconds old.

He couldn't be parted from Irwin Magno last time out, though, with referee Terry O'Connor having their contest all square at 38-38 after four rounds.

That came in the Holte Suite at Aston Villa Football Club, where his previous four fights have taken place. He's also appeared in Cannock and Glasgow.

He occupies the home corner in one of seven bouts on the Dudley card, comprising of four and six-rounders. His opponent will be confirmed when agreed with Maloney.

The most experienced campaigners, Ricky Summers and Andrew Robinson, are expected to engage with opponents over the longer distance.

Hometown hero Les Byfield, Tyler Denny, Kane Baker and CJ Challenger are all slated to join Jones in action over four.
