South Shropshire wildlife photographer captures green kingfisher in flight
You very rarely get a shot of a green kingfisher in flight - is this a new species? This shot was taken by Terry Moore, wildlife photographer from Church Stretton, on the River Clun.

The kingfisher in the photograph is emerald green due to the "Tyndal" effect, when light strikes the feathers, even at the slightest of angles, the normal electric blue feathers appear emerald green.
