Villagers rally together to show support for their farming community
Living amidst a strong farming community and with our hall being a vital part of that community, the committee of Diddlebury Village Hall wanted to support our local farmers as they face the stress and worry about the impact that an imposition of Inheritance Tax will have on their family farms.
We decided to come out in support of them by joining the national initiative of wearing our wellies today, and we put the word out to all our followers on Facebook and our local Google group and invited anyone that wanted to join us to come along after lunch to our lovely village hall which is on the beautiful Corvedale in South Shropshire.
Over 50 people turned out - many of them farmers who couldn’t travel to London because they were looking after their family farms - we were thrilled to have had so many people make the effort to come and join us!
