Telford charity fundraiser reaches new heights
More than 80 ladies including businesswomen from across Shropshire, gathered at Hadley Park House Hotel in Telford to raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
The annual Posh Frocks Charity Dinner is on track to raise more than £2,800 which will help fund air ambulance operations delivering vital lifesaving pre-hospital emergency service.
£1,845 was raised on the night from the Grand Hamper Raffle and sale of the charity’s sought-after merchandise, plus a personal donation of £250 from Jenny Wynn. A further £1,000 match-funding is being organised by Sarah Lowe and Sharon Gardener’s employer bringing the final total raised to £2,𝟪𝟦𝟧
Kim Gilmour of Telford-based Connect Consultancy, who organises the annual event said: “Thanks to everyone who attended, donated and supported this event. The food and service at the Hadley Park House Hotel were excellent as usual and everyone seemed to have a good time. Jee Kay had everyone on their feet, trying out Bhangra Dance moves in a lively mini-workshop.
She added: “Midlands Air Ambulance Charity receives no government funding and has to rely on generous donations to make its daily lifesaving missions possible. We were fortunate to have so many wonderful gifts donated for the Hamper Raffle encouraging everyone to dig deep and support this amazing charity.”
Lauren Czerniuk, corporate partnerships executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity said: “It is thanks to those in our local communities that we can continue saving lives every day.
“We appreciate every donation from generous supporters and events, like the Posh Frocks Dinner, which helps us provide a vital, lifesaving service to Midlands so we can be there when patients need us.”
Kim added: “This brings the amount these events have raised for local charities over the last 20 years to nearly £39,000.”
