Shrewsbury set to welcome TV personality and local food & drink producers for Christmas fiesta
The countdown is on for the Slow Food Christmas Fiesta on Saturday, 7 December, at the historic Dye House in Shrewsbury Flaxmill.
This free, family-friendly event runs from 10am to 7pm, offering a chance to stock up on fantastic local food and drink ahead of Christmas. Broadcaster and author Kate Humble will sign books and chat with producers from midday. Visitors can also hear Shane Holland, Executive Chair of Slow Food UK, interviewed by Kate, sharing insights into sustainable food systems and local provenance.
From delicious preserves to freshly baked goods, heritage cheeses and other seasonal treats, visitors will find everything they need to create a festive feast. There will be interactive workshops, chef demonstrations, and tastings to bring the principles of the Slow Food movement to life. Slow Food Person of the Year, Steve Guy (AKA The Hungry Guy) will be running a stall along with Shrewsbury Hub with incredible products made entirely from surplus food. Visitors can also indulge in delicious seasonal food from local vendors while enjoying festive drinks from different local producers.
