Aldi colleagues in Shrewsbury raise more than £2,500 in charity skydive
A group of Aldi colleagues in Shrewsbury has raised more than £2,500 for charity in sponsored skydives.
Kirsty Evans, Aaron Morgan, Sarah Jones, Julie Jex and Dan Roberts – all from Aldi’s Battlefield Road Store - completed the skydives from 10,000ft to raise money for the supermarket’s dedicated charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.
With the support of various friends, family and Aldi colleagues, the team have exceeded their original fundraising target of £2,000 to help the charity provide specialist care and support for those aged 13-24 with cancer. Donations to the team’s fundraising efforts can still be made at justgiving.com/page/team-68-1718989335277
Speaking of their achievement and fundraising efforts, Kirsty said: “The skydive was absolutely exhilarating and an unforgettable moment, made even better by the amazing funds we have raised.
“We felt very proud to take on this challenge and we can’t thank those who have donated enough, because we know the money raised helps make a positive impact on the people Teenage Cancer Trust cares for.”
Laura Domoné, Regional Managing Director at Aldi UK, said: “The Battlefield Road Store team’s latest fundraising efforts are inspiring for us all and we are incredibly proud of their achievement.
“Teenage Cancer Trust provides invaluable care and guidance to young people who are in such difficult situations and the work they do is so important.”
Aldi has partnered with Teenage Cancer Trust since 2017, raising more than £10 million through various fundraising efforts. The supermarket is on track to meet its goal of raising £15 million by 2027.
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need.
