Achieve your health and fitness aspirations with Wrekin Wellness Summit
Yellow Ribbon is partnering with Telford and Wrekin Council and NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, to assist people of all ages to achieve their health and fitness aspirations.
Today (15 January), the Wrekin Wellness Summit is being launched at Halfway House on the Wrekin. Agencies are collaborating together to provide visitors to the Pavilion, local information on health, wellness and fitness.
We are promoting the Telford and Wrekin Council, 'Do It For' campaign encouraging Wrekin attendees to make a Healthy Telford pledge whereby they set personal health goals and take actionable steps towards achieving them.
Throughout Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th , all are welcome to drop-in to the Cafe Kiosk and Pavilion, between 11am and 3pm. There will be agencies available, providing information focussing on health, wellness and being more active, keeping fit and well in both indoor and natural outdoor surroundings.
On Saturday, 18 January starting at 11am, Mayor Ian Preece and Councillor Paul Davies will be unveiling the unique 'Wrekin Community Art Showpiece'. This canvassed art showpiece has been facilitated by Caris Jackson into a collage art form, depicting connections and memories of the Wrekin contributed to by the community.
Also on Saturday from 12 noon, you are invited to join 'Leo Loco's Circus Skills' for children and young people, to have fun, learning some new tricks, spinning pates, juggling and a good day out at no cost to attendees.
On Sunday, 19 January and Sunday, 9 February from 12 noon-2pm, Micky from Shropshire Cat Rescue will raise awareness of the rescue centre and encouraging getting active to also raise funds supporting/sponsoring Micky.
As we go into 2025, Severn Trent Community Fund is assisting Yellow Ribbon with recently awarded grant money to improve community wellbeing - people, places and environment to enhance amenities available to the public.
