Community's fundraising well on the way to target, but still needs your support!

Residents of Bishop's Castle have a target to replace the 50-year-old pool at SpArC Leisure Centre with a new insulated steel pool which reduces water volume and heating costs and has easier access. For this to be possible, it needs £250,000 by March 2025. By the end of December, the project had made £235,000!

Most of this came from local supporters – from sponsored swims, the Olympic Fanzone, 500 Club subscriptions, bonfire night, bingo, plant stalls, apple pressing, Clun’s Charity Night and collection buckets, as well as a host of small events and sponsorship from very generous local donors.

We now have until the Campaign Finale on March 7 to gain the remaining £15,000. Currently planned events are:

  • Art of Swimming - Drusilla Cole’s exhibition in the SpArC gallery, including 30 pieces donated to our campaign, continues until the end of January
  • Arts Festival – On Sunday, 23 February, a soup and scone/tea and cake café will pop up in Bank House between 11am and 4pm
  • The final sponsored swim – being organized by Martin Howitt
  • Grande Finale on March 7– The social event of the year, hosted by local Olympian, Ollie Morgan. Tickets will shortly be available.
