Wenlock Water - recycling, re-using and working with local businesses

Wenlock Water are proud of their partnerships with local suppliers and businesses. Just recently they have worked with Nigel Woodward, the site manager of Bulkrite in Dorrington to give a new lease of life to a special purpose truck body, which is 21 years old. The body is on its third vehicle.

When it comes to preservation and restoration, few tasks are as intricate and rewarding as fitting a truck body onto a new chassis. The vehicle chassis is the structural framework that supports the truck body and mechanical components, such as the engine, suspension, and drivetrain. The body, on the other hand, encompasses the outer shell that defines the vehicle’s shape, aerodynamics, and delivery features. Fitting a new body to an existing chassis often involves customizing both elements to ensure a secure and functional fit.

Bruce Orme, Director at Wenlock Water commented: "At Wenlock Water we are proud of our ethos and of our environmental policies. One of our main targets is to always reduce, reuse, recycle. And when it comes to our vehicles, our delivery routes are carefully planned to reduce mileage and therefore emissions. This project is also a perfect example of how we purchase locally whenever we can to support local business. We have been working with Bulkrite for many years – and they have been a customer of ours with bottled water coolers since 2003. Long may that continue."

Look out for the vehicle on the roads around Shropshire and the West Midlands, by the time you see it, the new branding and graphics will have been applied. Yes, you’ve guessed it – also done by local suppliers!
