Most people who receive a diagnosis of dementia have little understanding about the disease or what may follow in coming years. And they be reluctant to talk to others about the disease. Many are knocked back by the diagnosis and may be upset and anxious.

A Good Life with Dementia is a five session course designed by people with dementia and delivered by people with dementia. We give the space and trust for people to talk about how they feel, what their fears are, and to ask the questions they need answered.

The course is not a series of lectures, but provides the opportunities to just open up, listen to others and learn that life does not stop when you are diagnosed.

The most important things are to understand the disease and to work out how to keep doing what you enjoy. And to learn new things too.

The course will be 2-4pm on Tuesdays from March 11 to April 8, at the Community Hall, St Peter's Church, Monkmoor, Shrewsbury.
