Free public talk: 'Music, Humanity & Humanism' hosted by Shropshire Humanists

For many people music is a central to their lives. They look to music to express or manage a whole range of emotions. How does music work to such powerful effect?

Teddy Prout, accompanied by his piano, will explore the history and development of music as part of human experience on both personal and societal levels. Teddy Prout is a classically trained musician and for many years was director of performing arts at a large London Academy.

Teddy is now Director of Learning and Engagement for the Philharmonia Orchestra, involving thousands of people in the joy of music-making. Projects include schools’ concerts, family friendly concerts, and engaging with the next generation of musical talent through music education hubs.

The talk is on Thursday, 20 March, 6.30pm for a 7pm start at the Unitarian Church, 39-40 High Street, Shrewsbury SY1 1LR.
