Local Shropshire girl selected as Reform UK Party candidate for Cheswardine Ward in upcoming council elections
Victoria McDowall, just turned 21 and a final year law student, lives within the Cheswardine Ward and is passionate about the constituents and the area within it. Victoria grew up travelling to North Shropshire at least twice a week for the last 14 years in order to train with her horses as she was competing nationally within the equestrian sphere. Over these 14 years Victoria developed a deep passion for the area and two years ago, she and her family relocated to Cheswardine and have never looked back.

Victoria is very passionate about the agricultural and farming community and is greatly concerned about the damage to them by the recent tax changes. Both Victoria and the Reform party hope to support this community in any way they can upon election.
She met with John Hoole, a prominent figure within Cheswardine’s farming community, discussing various elements of his work and how recent governmental policies will affect his and other farmers lives going forward. She also visited the Tallis Amos Group based in Allscott, and met with Mel Gregory, the Parts-Manager, who also resides within the Ward of Cheswardine. Mel was kind enough to show Victoria around their extensive facility and all of their equipment that they have in stock as well as their impressive repair shop and parts store. Victoria appreciated this greatly, and the discussions that she and Mel partook in, as it afforded her the opportunity to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the equipment that farmers must rely on daily and the financial implications that accompany it.
Victoria is also greatly concerned about the safety of the roads within the ward. After the dark nights of the winter, we have just experienced, dazzling headlights of oncoming cars and lorries and the abundance of unlit narrow country lanes. She hopes to open up discussions about improving the road markings where appropriate within the ward, to improve safety for all concerned.

Upon moving to Cheswardine, Victoria was enchanted by the community spirit and hopes to further embrace and promote this throughout the ward upon her election.

Victoria intends to meet as many residents of the area as possible, in the run up to the election in May.
